KatadataOTO – After a long wait, Changan has finally taken a serious step. They will launch an electric car for consumers in Indonesia.

Seriously, this brand from China will immediately market two Electric Vehicles (EVs) at once. First, there is the Changan Deepal S07 and the Lumin EV.

Both of these environmentally friendly four-wheeled vehicles are planned to be showcased at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW 2025) exhibition.

“Yes, we have a new plan for two products this year. The launch will be at GJAW 2025,” said Setiawan Surya, CEO of Changan Indonesia in Chongqin, China on Wednesday (22/10).

Setiawan explained that both of these Changan electric cars are already registered on the official Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) page.

He also confirmed that the Changan Lumin EV as well as the Deepal S07 can be immediately owned by domestic consumers.

“The stock is not much yet, but we can sell (the two new products) immediately,” Setiawan continued.

Unfortunately, Setiawan was reluctant to provide further information about the two Changan electric cars, including the price that will be offered.

GJAW 2025 itself will take place at ICE BSD, Tangerang from November 21-30.

As a reminder, the Changan Deepal S07 is equipped with a 79.9 kWh battery. It is then paired with a drive motor producing 160 kW or the equivalent of 214.5 hp and 320 Nm of torque.

On a single charge, the Changan Deepal S07 can travel up to 475 km (WLTP).

Meanwhile, the Changan Lumin EV carries an LFP battery with a capacity of 28.08 kWh.

It is then paired with an electric motor with a maximum power of 35 kW or 46 hp. The peak torque reaches 83 Nm.

The speed of this tiny EV reaches 101 km per hour. And on a single charge, it can go up to 301 km (NEDC).

It should be noted, on the NJKB page, the Deepal S07 (4X2) AT has a base price of Rp 580 million to Rp 611 million.

Meanwhile, the Changan Lumin L DC (4X2) AT is priced at Rp 194 million. Ready to challenge other tiny electric cars.

However, it should be remembered that the NJKB is not the benchmark for the actual vehicle price, as it does not yet include other costs such as taxes.

So it is worth waiting to see the arrival of the Changan Deepal S07 and Lumin EV at the GJAW 2025 event next month.
