KatadataOTO – A number of manufacturers have started adjusting the prices of new electric cars. One of them is Changan Indonesia.
The brand from China was observed to have raised the price of the Changan Lumin EV in January 2026.
At its launch in late 2025, this Electric Vehicle (EV) was offered at around Rp 178 million for the DKI Jakarta area.
However, according to Changan's official website on Sunday (18/01), this small electric car is now sold for Rp 199 million. This means there has been an increase of about Rp 21 million.
Upon closer inspection, the price above is equivalent to the price of the BYD Atto 1 cheapest variant marketed in Indonesia.
For your information, the price increase of the Changan Lumin EV is quite reasonable. Considering that at the beginning of the year, there are usually adjustments to the Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee (BBNKB).
Furthermore, the price of raw materials also affects the price of Changan electric cars in the country.
As a reminder, the Changan Lumin EV has previously been marketed in the Southeast Asia region in the Philippines and Thailand.
Adopting a similar concept to the Wuling Air ev and VinFast VF 3, the Changan Lumin EV is a three-door electric vehicle.
The compact electric car can also accommodate four people or has a 4-seater configuration.
However, the appearance of the Changan Lumin EV is simple and has very few additional components, such as a body kit.
Additionally, its door handles use a flush model, making the exterior of the Changan Lumin EV look even more minimalist.
The front has a unique headlight design that makes it easily recognizable. On the center bumper, there is a small, simple emblem with the word Lumin.
The wheels have a design similar to other small electric cars in Indonesia, but with a larger size of 14 inches.
Entering the cabin, the Changan Lumin EV has an interior wrapped in a combination of gray and black colors.
To support the driving experience, there is a seven-inch instrument panel and a 10.25-inch head unit.
Then, the second-row seats of the Changan Lumin EV can be folded to expand the luggage capacity, allowing it to carry more items.
In terms of powertrain, the Changan Lumin EV relies on an electric motor with a maximum power of 35 kW or equivalent to 46 hp and a peak torque of 83 Nm.
The powertrain is also paired with a Lithium Ferro-Phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 28.08 kWh.
The maximum speed of this small EV reaches 101 km per hour. Meanwhile, on a single charge, its range is claimed to be up to 301 km (NEDC).
