The compact electric car Changan Lumin EV has been registered in Indonesia; here are its leaked specifications.
KatadataOTO – Changan is rumored to be bringing two electric car models for its debut in Indonesia. One that has caught attention is the compact Electric Vehicle (EV), the Lumin EV.
Previously reported, the Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) of the Lumin EV has been registered on the Samsat-PKB website at around Rp 194 million.
This figure cannot be used as a benchmark for the final price as it does not yet include costs such as taxes.
However, there is a chance its price tag will remain affordable in the Rp 100 million range. Considering Changan wants to focus on bringing affordable cars and locally assembling its product line in Indonesia.
Changan Lumin EV has previously been marketed in the Philippines and Thailand in Southeast Asia.
Adopting a similar concept to the Wuling Air ev and VinFast VF 3, the Changan Lumin EV is a three-door electric vehicle.
The compact electric car can also accommodate four people or has a 4-seater configuration.
However, in terms of design, the Changan Lumin EV is different from the Wuling Air ev and the VinFast VF 3.
Its appearance is simpler and has very few additional components like a bodykit. Additionally, its door handles use a flush model, making the exterior even more minimalist.
The front has a unique headlight design that makes it easily recognizable. In the center, there is a small, simple emblem with the word Lumin.
Its wheels have a design similar to other compact electric cars in Indonesia. However, their size is larger at 14 inches.
Inside the cabin, the Changan Lumin EV has an interior wrapped in a combination of gray and black.
To support the driving experience, there is a seven-inch instrument panel and a 10.25-inch head unit.
Furthermore, the second-row seats of the Changan Lumin EV can be folded to expand the trunk capacity, allowing it to carry more items.
Regarding the powertrain, the Changan Lumin EV uses a 28.08 kWh LFP battery paired with a single front-wheel-drive electric motor.
This combination enables the car to produce 35 kW of power, equivalent to 46 hp, and a peak torque of 83 Nm.
Its maximum speed or top speed is claimed to reach 101 km/h. Then, on a single charge, the Changan Lumin EV can travel 301 km based on the NEDC testing method.
It is not yet known for certain when Changan will launch its car this year, but there are exhibitions like the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week or GJAW 2025 that could be the right moment for a product introduction.
