KatadataOTO – The regulation regarding electric car incentives has been passed and is stated in PMK (Minister of Finance Regulation) Number 12 of 2025. This is effective as of February 4, 2025.

It should be noted that the government-borne VAT (PPN DTP) was previously disbursed for several electric car models last year. There was a 10 percent tax relief, so consumers only needed to bear the remaining one percent.

However, with the increase in VAT (Value Added Tax) to 12 percent, it means that this year, electric car buyers will need to bear a two percent tax.

Similar to the policy in effect last year, there are several requirements that manufacturers must meet to obtain incentives, namely fulfilling the TKDN (Local Component Level) with a certain percentage. Here are the details of the 12 models.

Categories a and b can receive a 10 percent subsidy. Meanwhile, for category c, the incentive amount is five percent.

Meanwhile, several other Chinese brands such as BYD and Aion have received import incentives. This is because they have committed to local production.

Therefore, their vehicle lineup, which is still CBU (Completely Built-Up) or fully imported, can still be sold at attractive prices for consumers.

BYD offers many models to consumers, such as the Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal, M6, and its newest product, the Sealion 7. Aion has three mainstays: the Aion Y Plus, Aion Hyptec, and Aion V.
