The training organized by Chery and the Ministry of Manpower aims to prepare the workforce to be competitive in the era of electrification.
KatadataOTO – PT CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia) together with the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker RI) has officially opened workforce training for handling electric cars at the BBPVP (Center for Vocational and Productivity Training) in Bekasi.
The collaboration aims to increase the competency of the workforce in facing rapid industrial development, so they can compete and have skills that meet market needs.
A representative from Chery Indonesia stated that BBPVP Bekasi has become a training center to help support industrial needs, including for domestic technicians.
To support the training process, one unit of the Chery E5 electric car from PT CSI was handed over to BBPVP Bekasi.
“We realize that transformation cannot be achieved without the presence of competent HR (Human Resources). This collaboration has a significant impact,” said Zeng Shuo, President Director of PT CSI in Bekasi, Wednesday (16/07).
He continued that the development of EVs (Electric Vehicles) in Indonesia is quite fast. Therefore, many workers with adequate skills are needed to take part in it.
International standards will be applied in the training so that participants will have the necessary provisions to compete anywhere.
“Chery will also hold a competition to see how far our technicians' skills have come. The winner will be able to represent Indonesia to compete globally in China,” Zeng Shuo affirmed.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Manpower also expressed its appreciation and hopes that workers can be involved in learning practices that align with the needs of the industrial world.
This cooperation includes the preparation of training needs analysis, program and curriculum development, as well as training facilities and instructors.
“Later, alumni of the training participants can create new businesses equipped with the skills they have acquired after attending the training,” said Agung Nur Rohmad, Director General of Binalavotas at the Ministry of Manpower, on the same occasion.
It was further explained that the training will start this year and be held monthly, in collaboration with BBPVP Bekasi.
“With this job training center, we hope that technicians who previously only understood fossil fuels will begin to understand EVs. So that in the future, as technology advances, they will be more knowledgeable and ready to work,” said Reza Deniar, Head of Aftersales at PT CSI, on the sidelines of the workshop's inauguration.
The training is not only for technicians but also for non-technical personnel such as Safety Advisors.
