Chery Introduces New Technology, Installed in Tiggo 8 CSH

KatadataOTO – Chery introduced their Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle technology which is claimed to give more choices to the public. The system is claimed to enable the vehicle to have a longer range compared to ICE-engined cars.

The technology is named Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) and is planned to be installed on the Tiggo 8 CSH. The car is planned to be launched in the near future.

“The model we are displaying is still a prototype, but the technology will indeed be introduced in Indonesia in the near future,” said Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Brand Department at PT Chery Sales Indonesia in Jakarta (24/03).

The installed Chery Super Hybrid technology makes the vehicle's range longer. The Chinese manufacturer claims that the Tiggo 8 CSH can travel more than 1,100 km on a single tank of fuel.

“So, Internal Combustion Engine cars have the disadvantage of high fuel consumption, while with electric vehicles, people are still worried about the range. Therefore, we provide a solution through the Chery Super Hybrid,” said Zeng Shuo, Country Director of CSI.

Chery Super Hybrid combines a 1,500 cc gasoline engine with a battery and an electric motor. Interestingly, the car can not only be filled with gasoline but can also be charged like an electric vehicle.

Although it was revealed that the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH displayed today is still a prototype, its appearance is the same as at IIMS 2025. From the exterior, the car has an attractive appearance, especially at the front.

A large grille paired with sharply designed headlamps gives it a bold and dynamic impression. Moving to the side, Chery has added several aerodynamic lines and 19-inch wheels, making it look more robust.

Entering the cabin, the color black dominates, giving an aggressive impression. Its appearance is made more attractive by the inclusion of a large screen on the dashboard.

Several excellent features present in other models, such as a wireless charger and a panoramic sunroof, have also been installed. The car is planned to be produced at Handal Indonesia Motor.
