Chery J6 Electric Car Becomes the Backbone of Sales in Indonesia

KatadataOTO – Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) has marketed many products in Indonesia. Ranging from electric cars to hybrid-powered four-wheeled vehicles.

The Chinese brand stated that there are several products that are favorites among consumers in the country.

“Our backbone consists of three models, namely Chery J6, Tiggo Cross CSH and Tiggo 8 CSH,” said Budi Darmawan, Vice Country Director of CSI in Puncak Bogor some time ago.

Budi revealed that all the cars above are their three important pillars in the four-wheeled vehicle market.

He also emphasized that the Chery J6 can contribute significantly, especially to their success in Indonesia.

“EVs are still a favorite in the Jabodetabek area. The contribution of these three models is almost the same,” Budi continued.

He further stated that the Chery Tiggo Cross CSH, Tiggo 8 CSH, and J6 contribute around 30 to 35 percent of their sales.

On the other hand, the positive performance of the Chery J6 also proves that the public's trust in Electric Vehicles (EVs) is increasing.

It also shows that the domestic electric car market is starting to mature, with more and more people using environmentally friendly vehicles.

Chery has also successfully combined a two-pronged strategy: encouraging the adoption of pure EVs and strengthening the hybrid car segment.

New Chery J6 Variant Has a Fresher Look

For your information, to further entice the Indonesian public, CSI has just introduced the Chery J6T.

The electric car has undergone several changes from the previous version, from the exterior to the interior, to pamper consumers.

The Chery J6T is now equipped with new front and rear bumpers. Its shape is claimed to be more proportional.

Then there is also a front camera placed in a different position. Combined with the new Chery logo, it gives a fresh impression.

Meanwhile, in terms of dimensions, the Chery J6T has a length of 4,433 mm, a width of 1,916 mm, and a height of 1,741 mm.

As for the ground clearance, the Chery J6T is said to be higher, reaching 225 mm.

The Chery electric car's wheel size is 19 inches, wrapped with 245/55 tires.

This EV manufacturer also offers a new color for the Chery J6T, namely Red Matrix, which is capable of capturing the attention of national automotive enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, CSI is not yet willing to reveal the price of the Chery J6T for consumers in the country. They will only announce it on November 21, or more precisely at the GJAW 2025 event.
