Chery J6T Officially Introduced, Price Announced at GJAW 2025

KatadataOTO;–;Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) gave a surprise to automotive enthusiasts towards the end of the year. They introduced a new electric car.

Chery J6T has finally officially launched in Indonesia. The Electric Vehicle (EV) comes with various advantages.

Especially in terms of the appearance of this electric four-wheeled vehicle. A number of changes were made to the interior of the Chery J6T.

“An evolution of strength and toughness now comes with a touch of refinement in every detail,” said Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of CSI in Megamendung, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday (08/11).

Budi explained that the Chery J6T is now equipped with new front and rear bumpers. Its shape is claimed to be more proportional.

Then there is also a front camera placed in a different position. Combined with the new Chery logo, it gives a fresh impression.

“There are new touches like a dual guard, shape box storage, and a new shape fender that present a blend of functionality and the distinctive style of a true SUV,” Budi continued.

Meanwhile, in terms of dimensions, the Chery J6T has a length of 4,433 mm, a width of 1,916 mm, and a height of 1,741 mm.

As for the ground clearance, the Chery J6T is said to be higher, now at 225 mm.

The Chery electric car's wheel size is 17 inches. It is then wrapped with 245/55 tires.

This EV manufacturer also offers a new color for the Chery J6T, namely Red Matric. It is able to capture the attention of national automotive enthusiasts.

Moving inside, new touches have also been added. For example, the meter panel display is made to be more modern.

“We changed the stitching pattern on the headrest to make it more perfect. That's how detailed we were in paying attention to all these changes,” Budi said.

The entire interior of the Chery J6T is wrapped in black, giving a sporty impression when the driver is inside.

For performance, the Chery electric car carries a drive motor with 93.8 hp and 165 Nm of torque at the front.

Then at the rear, there is a motor with 181 hp. The peak torque is at 220 Nm.

It is also paired with a battery capacity of 65.69 kWh or 69.77 kWh.

The power storage has an IP68 certification, so it can provide more safety to the owners.

“This combination makes the J6T vehicle an electric SUV that is ready to explore without limits,” Budi affirmed.

If the owner wants to charge, it only takes 25 minutes to go from 30 percent to 80 percent.

Chery's new product is claimed to offer a range of up to 441 km for the RWD type. Then the IWD variant can go up to 436 km on a single charge (NEDC).

Unfortunately, CSI is not yet willing to reveal the price of the Chery J6T for consumers in the country. They will only announce it on November 21, or more precisely at the GJAW 2021 event.
