KatadataOTO – Chery's hybrid technology, namely CSH (Chery Super Hybrid), will be embedded in various models from this Chinese manufacturer. Starting from entry-level models to higher classes.

While Indonesia has the Tiggo 8 CSH, which is a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), Malaysia will soon see the arrival of the Tiggo Cross CSH with a strong hybrid system.

It should be noted that in Indonesia, the Chery Tiggo Cross is a model presented by PT CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia) to attract more consumers, especially in the entry-level segment.

However, the version currently sold domestically still has a conventional engine and has not been equipped with hybrid technology. At its debut, there was a special price ranging from Rp 239.5 million to Rp 269.5 million.

The Chery Tiggo Cross CSH in Malaysia is scheduled to launch in Malaysia this month. This information was revealed during the Chery Super Hybrid Exploration Tour event in Wuhu, China.

Reporting from Paultan, Friday (02/05), Chery revealed that the Tiggo 4 HEV, marketed as the Tiggo Cross for export markets, will arrive in Malaysia in May 2025.

The Chery Tiggo Cross CSH will use a 1,500 cc engine, capable of producing 97 hp and 118 Nm of torque.

However, it is also supported by two electric motors, contributing 201 hp while its peak torque of 310 Nm is channeled through a DHT (Direct Hybrid Transmission).

Speaking of the battery, its capacity is 1.83 kWh. The presence of this power storage is claimed to help increase fuel efficiency.

Then, with a full battery and gas tank, its comprehensive range is claimed to reach up to 1,000 km.

This hybrid version of the Tiggo Cross is strongly believed to be launching at the Malaysia Auto Show, held from May 9-15, 2025.

For your information, PT CSI has also confirmed that CSH technology will also be embedded in other models besides the Tiggo 8.

“It will be in several of our lineups. So if you all attended (the CSH launch), there were hints,” said Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of PT CSI in PIK some time ago.

The Tiggo Cross could be a strong candidate. Considering its sales are quite good and it has already started to be locally assembled.
