Chery is committed to continuously expanding its dealer network in Indonesia, targeting 80 dealers by 2025.
KatadataOTO – Amidst the sluggish automotive market, Chinese brands like Chery see a great opportunity for consumers to switch to Chinese products because their prices are more competitive.
To meet consumer demand, PT CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia) revealed it will establish 35 new dealers in Indonesia throughout 2025.
For your information, this year's target is 80 outlets. So far, 45 dealers have been established in various regions of the country, especially in Jabodetabek.
“It's a work in progress; if you look around, many places that were previously other brands are now changing their colors (to Chery). We will reach 80 outlets by the end of this year,” said Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of PT CSI, when met in South Tangerang, Tuesday (25/03).
Dealers are one form of the manufacturer's commitment to reaching consumers spread across many areas. The hope is that this can attract public interest in buying cars at competitive prices.
According to Budi, Chery is being cautious in its market penetration, considering that growth is predicted to remain sluggish due to various economic constraints.
He revealed that the current situation is not good, where the NPL (non-performing loan) or the number of customers with bad credit is increasing.
It was further explained that 60 to 65 percent of four-wheeled vehicle purchases are made on credit or in installments.
However, amidst these various challenges, Budi emphasized that his party sees a lot of potential to boost sales.
“That's precisely where we, as a Chinese brand, see an opportunity. We offer very competitive prices, with relatively the same specifications (as competitors), but can be offered at up to half the price,” said Budi.
Then, addressing consumer concerns about after-sales service, PT CSI affirmed that Chery's 3S dealers are well-stocked.
“Our line-up is quite extensive. One form of our commitment is the plan to expand the warehouse and add a variety of spare part items in collaboration with dealers,” said Reza Deniar, Head of Aftersales at PT CSI, on the same occasion.
New Chery dealers will also use the latest concept as applied in Puri Indah, giving a more luxurious and elegant impression.
“In terms of the network size, this (Chery Puri Indah) is the 45th to be officially operated. The year-end target is 80 outlets spread throughout Indonesia,” he asserted.
