KatadataOTO – One unit of the Citroen E-C4 was officially handed over to the French Embassy for Indonesia on Monday (07/07). This model was previously introduced to consumers towards the end of 2022.

This decision was made as a form of the French Embassy's commitment to supporting the electrification commitment being launched by the Indonesian government.

“EVs (Electric Vehicles) are not a luxury or a trend, they are a necessity. We can't wait to see the E-C4 driving silently on the streets of Jakarta,” said Fabien Penone, French Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, on Monday.

He revealed that the Citroen E-C4 is the first electric car for the French Embassy in Indonesia.

There are several reasons behind the selection of the Citroen E-C4. One of them is that the model is quite popular in France.

“As a French automotive brand that champions future mobility innovations, we are proud to support the electrification initiative of the French Embassy in Indonesia,” said Tan Kim Piauw, CEO of Citroen Indonesia, on the same occasion.

However, he was still reluctant to reveal further whether there would be additional units supplied to the French Embassy in the future.

Currently, the French Embassy's Citroen E-C4 will be used as an official car or operational vehicle for the Ambassador.

It was mentioned that no adjustments were made to the Citroen E-C4 for the French Embassy in Indonesia. The specifications and features are the same as those offered to consumers.

“There are no special (changes). This car is perfect, so we are already satisfied,” said the French Ambassador.

For your information, the Citroen E-C4 electric car in the global market is offered with two battery capacity options: 54 kWh and 50 kWh. They offer a range of 416 km and 360 km, respectively.

The unit supplied to the French Embassy as an official car is the variant with a 54 kWh battery, which can accommodate a distance of up to 416 km on a single charge.

The suspension is a main attraction of the Citroen vehicle lineup, and the E-C4 electric car is no exception, as it is equipped with progressive hydraulic cushions suspension.

The Citroen E-C4 electric car is not mass-produced, but if the public is interested, they can place an exclusive order with Citroen.
