KatadataOTO – Various Japanese manufacturers are competing to present hybrid cars for domestic consumers.
Especially with the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, which will take place at the end of July.
One of the products that might be launched at ICE BSD, Tangerang is the Toyota Vios Hybrid.
Additionally, the environmentally friendly sedan is planned to hit the roads in Thailand first. This model is named the Toyota Yaris Ativ and will launch in August 2025.
In the Land of the White Elephant, the Toyota Vios Hybrid received a positive reception, even securing 21,300 orders.
On the other hand, the four-wheeled vehicle has also been registered in Indonesia. This is known from the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs (Permendagri) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2025.
Inside, the name Toyota Vios 1.5 Hybrid CVT (NYC100R-TEXHB) with a manufacturing year of 2025 is listed.
Then there is the Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) which reaches Rp 325 million and the Motor Vehicle Tax Base (DP PKB) of Rp 333.1 million.
Then there is also the name Toyota Vios 1.5 Hybrid CVT GRS (NYC10R-TEXGB). It is stated that this product has an NJKB of Rp 351 million and a DP PKB of Rp 359.7 million.
Unfortunately, when KatadataOTO tried to seek information from Toyota salespeople, they did not yet know the launch date for the Vios Hybrid.
Including certainty on whether the Toyota Vios Hybrid will be launched at the GIIAS 2025 exhibition or not.
“There's nothing yet for the Vios Hybrid,” a salesperson told KatadataOTO some time ago.
For your information, the Toyota Vios Hybrid has a powertrain configuration that is not much different from the Yaris Cross HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle).
Reporting from Autolifethailand, the Toyota Vios Hybrid carries a 1,500 cc hybrid engine with the code 2NR-VEX.
On paper, this powertrain is claimed to be able to produce a maximum power of 91 hp and 121 Nm of torque, supported by an electric motor with 80 hp and 141 Nm of torque.
The combined performance of the combustion engine and electric motor is claimed to be able to produce up to 111 hp.
The additional power source on the Toyota Vios Hybrid is a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 0.7 kWh.
The sedan segment is actually less popular in Indonesia. The culture is even different from neighboring countries like Malaysia and Thailand.
However, it is possible that the Toyota Vios Hybrid will be used to attract potential domestic consumers. Because as a brand, the name Toyota has a good reputation in the eyes of the public.
