Mazda's assembly facility in Indonesia, located in West Java, is reportedly set to be completed next year.
KatadataOTO – PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) has finally spoken out about the development of their factory in Indonesia.
The Mazda Indonesia team revealed that their assembly facility is nearly complete and will be inaugurated soon.
“After the 2025 year-end holidays, we will definitely invite you to our factory's inauguration,” said Ricky Thyo, Chief Operating Officer of PT EMI, when met in Jakarta recently.
Although information had circulated that the location of the Mazda factory was in Pulo Gadung, Ricky denied this.
He is still keeping that information under wraps but confirmed that the Mazda factory is still in the West Java area.
“I didn't say Pulo Gadung. It's just a little longer (until the Mazda factory's inauguration),” Ricky affirmed.
Speaking of the model to be assembled, Ricky confirmed that Mazda's Completely Knocked Down (CKD) product will be a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) as their main focus and sales mainstay in the country.
“If I were to say, a compact SUV,” Ricky said briefly.
Referring to Mazda Global's financial report in May 2025, the model in question is the Mazda CX-30.
“Local production of the CX-30 model in Indonesia will also be promoted,” read Mazda's official statement some time ago.
The Mazda CX-30 is still sold in Indonesia today. The compact SUV debuted with a price of around Rp 478 million on the road in Jakarta in 2020.
Meanwhile, the Mazda CX-30 is now offered at around Rp 585.5 million on the road in Jakarta.
The Mazda CX-30 is equipped with a 2,000 cc Skyactiv-G engine, claimed to produce 155 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. Power is sent to the wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
Just like other locally assembled models, the price of the CX-30 is likely to be adjusted and become more competitive.
The Mazda CX-30 provides more options for consumers and strengthens its portfolio in the country.
The price adjustment can also help Mazda maintain its sales figures after a difficult year that caused PT EMI to revise its sales target for 2025.
