After introducing its excellent products in Indonesia, Daihatsu successfully reached nine million units in production.

KatadataOTO – Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) has once again made history in the Indonesian market. This time, they have successfully produced nine million units.
Operating in the country since 1978, the Japanese manufacturer has continued to present various flagship products.
Thus, Daihatsu has been consistent in supporting the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia for decades.
"Astra Daihatsu Motor has grown thanks to the support of all parties. We also launched iconic models like the Xenia," said Yasushi Kyoda, President Director of ADM today, Friday (22/08).
He stated that Daihatsu's journey in Indonesia has been marked by various innovations. Such as introducing the Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) line in 2012.
Then establishing the first research and development (R&D) center in the country in 2013. Thus being able to market superior four-wheeled vehicles.
Then introducing safety technology like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) through the Daihatsu Rocky.
"We also export vehicles to Japan. That is why we are celebrating the cumulative production of the nine millionth unit," he continued.
Furthermore, Kyoda said Daihatsu wants to prove that the nation's people are capable of producing superior four-wheeled vehicles.
That way, all Daihatsu cars can meet the various needs of consumers in Indonesia and abroad.
On the other hand, with the celebration of producing nine million car units, Daihatsu has had a positive impact on the domestic community.
Such as by opening 10 thousand job opportunities in three locations, like Sunter, Cibitung, and Karawang.
Daihatsu has also collaborated with more than 1,700 spare parts suppliers, including 700 local SMEs.
"Our local content has exceeded 80 percent. This is a form of our commitment to continuously boost the domestic industry," Kyoda added.
For your information, throughout 2024, Daihatsu has successfully recorded sales of up to 168 thousand units in the domestic market. This is a positive achievement amidst a difficult situation.
Finally, for 16 consecutive years, Daihatsu has maintained its position as the number two manufacturer in the national automotive market.
In the future, the brand from the Land of the Rising Sun intends to consistently provide more environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
"By applying the Kaizen principle, we will maintain safety, quality, and efficiency to face future challenges," Kyodo concluded his statement.
