KatadataOTOGIIAS 2025 just concluded on Sunday (03/08). Several manufacturers claimed sweet results from this year's exhibition.

One of them is Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM). The Japanese manufacturer claimed to have received hundreds of Vehicle Order Letters (SPK).

“In a strained economy like the current one, consumers will certainly buy cars that are easy on their wallets. Daihatsu experienced this, the SPK received at GIIAS 2025 reached 580 units,” said Ferdy Handjaja, Chief Executive Officer of Astra International-Daihatsu Sales Operation in an official statement on Monday (04/08).

This number is a slight increase from last year's achievement. At GIIAS 2024, they only recorded 539 SPK.

Therefore, Ferdy admitted to being quite happy with the results Daihatsu achieved, considering the new car market in Indonesia is currently sluggish.

He further stated that there are several factors why Daihatsu's SPK acquisition at GIIAS 2025 increased slightly.

One of them is fuel efficiency. This point became one of the main considerations for consumers.

“The use of efficient and fuel-saving vehicles is much needed by consumers. Especially in the current economic situation,” he continued.

Rocky Hybrid Becomes the Mainstay

Based on the situation above, they launched the Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid at GIIAS 2025. The presence of this new car was able to shake up the market.

This was proven by the number of orders during the exhibition. Out of the 580 SPK received, 147 of them were for the Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid.

It should be noted that Daihatsu's new hybrid car relies on a 1,200 cc gasoline engine codenamed WA-VEX and is integrated with a 0.74 kWh capacity battery.

This power is then channeled to an electric motor capable of releasing a maximum power of 104 hp and a maximum torque of 170 Nm.

Thanks to this, the car can accelerate to 100 km per hour in just 10 seconds from a standstill.

The Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid is claimed to be fuel-efficient. The product recorded a distance of 28 km per liter using the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Cycle (WLTC) testing method.

It is also said to be able to travel as far as 34.8 km per liter based on the Japan Cycle 08 (JC08) testing method.

Finally, the Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid is said to have low emissions, as it only produces 83 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
