KatadataOTODedi Mulyadi is once again in the public spotlight. This time, it's not about a new policy made for his citizens.

However, the Governor of West Java is in arrears on motor vehicle tax for his luxury car, namely the Lexus LX600.

According to the official website of Samsat DKI Jakarta on Wednesday (23/04), the four-wheeled vehicle with license plate number B 2600 SME has a sale value of around Rp 1.9 billion.

The luxury car's tax has been overdue since the beginning of the year, or January 19, 2025. As of now, Dedi Mulyadi's total arrears have reached Rp 42,233,300.

With a breakdown of motor vehicle tax (PKB) amounting to Rp 40,404,000, late fees reaching Rp 1,616,200, Mandatory Road Traffic Accident Fund Contribution (SWDKLLJ) of Rp 143,000, and an SWDKLLJ fine of Rp 70,000.

Dedi Mulyadi has spoken out about the tax on his luxury car. According to him, the Lexus LX600 is still being paid for in installments.

“I want to state that the car has a Jakarta license plate, because the loan is not yet fully paid, so I will transfer its registration to West Java,” said Dedi on his TikTok account.

According to Dedi, it is not appropriate for this Lexus LX600 to still use a Jakarta license plate, since he is now the governor of West Java.

“Because it is still under the control of the leasing company, the leasing company is currently processing the registration transfer,” he continued.

Furthermore, Dedi Mulyadi promised to pay off all the motor vehicle tax arrears for this luxury car.

"In the end, all arrears to the DKI Regional Government will be settled and paid off. Then the license plate number will be changed to a West Java one," Dedi affirmed.

Furthermore, Dedi will also routinely and obediently fulfill his obligations as a West Java citizen every year, namely paying taxes.

He also expressed his gratitude for the criticism regarding the late tax payment. Dedi promised to be more compliant in the future.

“I have always had a tradition, when I was the Regent of Purwakarta, all the license plates were Purwakarta plates. Today, as the Governor of West Java, all the license plates will be West Java plates,” said Dedi Mulyadi.

He stated that as a leader, one must set an example for the entire community, especially for vehicle owners in the Bandung, Bogor, Cimahi, and other areas.
