KatadataOTO – A model from BYD's premium sub-brand, the Denza D9, has officially been added to the fleet for the taxi rental service Goldenbird, part of Bluebird.

This is not the first time a BYD vehicle line has been used as a fleet by a transportation company. Previously, the BYD M6 MPV was also chosen as an electric-powered online taxi option by Grab Indonesia.

“The new Goldenbird fleet is ready to launch! As a pioneer of comfort and a trailblazer in sustainability, Goldenbird is ready to make your journey more comfortable,” read a statement from the official Bluebird Group account, quoted on Saturday (1/3).

However, the Denza D9 fills a different class than the BYD M6. It should be noted that the D9 is presented as a luxury MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) option with a price tag in the IDR 900 million range.

Meanwhile, the BYD M6 is offered more competitively, starting from IDR 379 million to IDR 429 million on the road in Jakarta.

It should be noted that Goldenbird is a car rental service, providing premium shuttle services for its customers.

The facilities offered include a professional local driver who is claimed to be fluent with various routes, especially in the Jakarta area, to facilitate customers.

Referring to the information on the official website, there are a number of models offered for rent. For gasoline engine types, there are three models from Toyota, namely the Avanza, Innova, and Alphard.

Meanwhile, in the Electric Vehicle Car Rental category, the options besides the Denza D9 are the BYD M6, Ioniq 5, and BMW iX.

A Glimpse of the Denza D9

The presence of the Denza D9 adds variety to the Premium MPV segment for consumers, which was previously only filled by a few players like the Toyota Alphard HEV or Vellfire HEV.

Launched towards the end of January 2025, the Denza D9 electric car offers a number of advantages such as the use of a special chassis with CTB (Cell to Body) technology, where the battery is integrated into the body structure, making the cabin more spacious.

The Denza D9 is sold for IDR 950 million on the road. For comparison, its rivals in the same class are still offered at a higher price, starting from IDR 1 billion.

Consumers who purchase the Denza D9 receive a number of benefits, such as a six-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, as well as an eight-year warranty for the drive motor and battery, respectively.
