KatadataOTO – The luxury electric MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) Denza D9 has once again recorded satisfactory results throughout June 2025 amidst the various challenges in the current automotive industry.

The model, which is a premium sub-brand of BYD, first launched domestically on January 22, 2025, with a price of Rp 950 million on the road in Jakarta and immediately received a positive response.

Denza D9 sales actually saw a decline in April and May. For two consecutive months, the figures did not surpass 1,000 units.

However, according to data KatadataOTO received from Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries), retail sales of the Denza D9 (from dealer to consumer) have improved again.

In June 2025, retail sales of the Denza D9 reached 1,128 units, an increase of 41.4 percent (330 units) from May 2025's 798 units.

Meanwhile, looking at the overall picture, a total of 5,093 units of the Denza D9 were sold from January to June 2025.

This is a good achievement as it has managed to outperform several other Chinese brands that have sold more than one model.

Aion, for example, recorded retail sales of 2,716 units from January-June 2025. This figure is a combination of the Aion Y Plus, Aion Hyptec, and Aion V, sold for under Rp 900 million.

Then, the Geely EX5 only sold 786 units in the January-June 2025 period. Its price ranges from Rp 475 million to Rp 515 million.

For your information, the Denza D9 is a strong competitor to the Toyota Alphard HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), which is priced at Rp 1.71 billion.

The electric car Denza D9 has dimensions of 5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, 1,920 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.
