The NMAA stated that one particular style is set to become a trend in electric car modification at the IMX 2025 event.
KatadataOTO – Domestic modifiers have started to perform modifications on electric vehicles, which have become numerous in Indonesia throughout 2024. Entering the new year, the NMAA (National Modificator and Aftermarket Association) revealed that this will be accommodated at the IMX 2025 event.
For your information, the Indonesia Modificator and Lifestyle Expo is an exhibition that focuses on showcasing modification works and aftermarket products for automotive enthusiasts.
At the IMX 2024 event, there was already an electric car modification area, the IMX Tech Area, provided in response to the growing trend of BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) modifications.
Although there are many options, according to NMAA, the preferred types of modifications tend to be focused on design or the exterior only, without touching the electrical systems or the powertrain.
“On average, the modifications are in the street racing style. The changes are to the wheels, suspension, and exterior, not yet in the engine sector, but more focused on changing the aesthetics,” said Andre Mulyadi, Founder of NMAA, to KatadataOTO some time ago.
Street racing itself is one style of modification. Its main focus is to make the car look sportier.
He gave an example from last year's IMX event, where a BYD Seal had been modified in such a way that it resembled a conventional vehicle.
“The new car has already been modified. Changed the coilovers, brakes, and large wheels,” Andre continued his statement.
However, modifiers generally still pay attention to comfort when making changes to their vehicles. Because the car is used for daily mobility.
For your information, various electric car modifications can be found at the IMX 2025 event. This will be the eighth time the exhibition is held, and the venue remains the same, at ICE BSD, Tangerang.
This exhibition will take place from October 10-12. The organizers hope that transactions can reach Rp 10 billion, higher than last year's achievement of Rp 8.7 billion.
There will be various interesting programs for exhibition visitors to enjoy. Not to forget, there will be two giveaway car units, but the models have not been detailed yet.
Last year, there were three cars prepared for lucky visitors. The first was the Gran Max GH Style from Gofar Hilman, the Reccoba, a collaboration between Arif Brata and Gofar Hilman, and the Wuling BinguoEV electric car owned by Cipung, designed by Raffi Ahmad and NMAA.
