Denza D9 became the electric car with the most wholesales throughout June 2025, followed by BYD Sealion 7 and M6.
KatadataOTO – The number of wholesales, or the distribution of electric vehicle units from factories to dealers, has continued a downward trend since April 2025.
Processed from Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries) data as of June 2025, the total wholesales of BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) or pure electric cars stood at 6,243 units.
This figure is down 1.38 percent compared to the previous month, May, where electric car wholesales were 6,331 units, while in April the nominal figure was higher, reaching 7,626 units.
However, with signs of the arrival of several other affordable electric cars at the upcoming GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025, it is possible that EV wholesales achievements could improve.
This time, the top 10 electric car wholesales are filled by Chinese manufacturers. Hyundai, which had occupied the eighth rank in May 2025 thanks to the contribution of 226 units of the Ioniq 5, has been pushed out.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5, including the 5 N, only distributed five units throughout June 2025. Its sibling, the Kona Electric, also failed to contribute significantly with 10 units.
In first place is the luxury MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) from BYD's sub-brand, the Denza D9.
In May 2025, Denza D9 wholesales were 630 units, then increased by 64.3 percent to 1,768 units in June.
