Electric Vehicle Wholesales March 2025, Denza Leads

KatadataOTO – BYD (Build Your Dreams) continues to dominate wholesale figures (shipments from factory to dealer) in the electric car or EV (Electric Vehicle) segment throughout March 2025.

Based on data from Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries), in March 2025, BYD's sub-brand Denza brought in the D9 EV with wholesale figures of 1,587 units.

This figure is a sharp increase from the previous record in February 2025 of 912 units. The BYD M6 dropped to second place, but its wholesale figures increased compared to February, from 1,093 units to 1,293 units.

The BYD M6 type chosen by consumers is the Superior Captain Seat, also known as the highest variant, totaling 582 units.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was previously in 10th place in February 2025. However, this time, it dropped to 16th place with wholesale figures of 89 units.

Previously, Hyundai was the only South Korean brand in the top 10 best-selling electric cars for February 2025.

The MG 4 EV in sixth place was also displaced as Aion Hyptec debuted in the top 10, delivering 886 units to dealers this month.

The newest product from the Chinese brand, the BYD Sealion 7, rose from 181 units to 1,182 units in March 2025.

Then there is the boxy SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) Chery J6 in fourth position with wholesale figures of 987 units, up from 634 units in the previous month.

For the first time this year, in March 2025, the top 10 electric car wholesale figures were filled by brands from China.

The most were from BYD and Denza, followed by Chery, Aion, and Wuling. The competition among Chinese brands is expected to intensify in the future, especially with the arrival of several new players this year.
