KatadataOTO – The Wuling Cortez Darion EV and PHEV made a strong showing at GIIAS 2025. The new car attracted a lot of attention.

In total during GIIAS 2025, the Wuling Cortez Darion PHEV and EV managed to collect 122 Vehicle Order Letters (SPK).

“Based on the existing data, the total from the PHEV and EV is in the hundreds,” said Brian Gomgom, Brand Communication Senior Manager of Wuling Motors, when met at ICE BSD, Tangerang some time ago.

He further stated that the Wuling Cortez Darion EV was quite popular at GIIAS 2025. In fact, the electric four-wheeler dominated orders compared to the PHEV version.

This was proven by the number of SPK collected. The Electric Vehicle (EV) variant contributed 86 percent, while the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) type only contributed 14 percent.

Looking at this data, Brian Gomgom revealed that there are a number of factors why Wuling's new electric car is more popular than the PHEV version.

“It seems to be more about consumer preference, and some of them may already own an EV,” he continued.

Customers already own the Wuling BinguoEV, Cloud EV, and Air ev. Then they want to upgrade their vehicle to a larger and more modern one.

So they decided to choose the Wuling Cortez Darion EV to meet their daily mobility needs.

For your information, the Wuling Cortez Darion EV carries an electric motor with a power of 150 kW or 201 hp. Meanwhile, the unit's range reaches 540 km (CLTC) on a single charge.

For charging, the Wuling Cortez Darion EV is supported by DC fast charging (CCS-2). So it only takes 30 minutes to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent.

As for the Wuling Cortez Darion PHEV, it is equipped with a 1,500 cc gasoline engine. It is claimed to be able to produce a power of 145 kW or 194 hp.

It is also paired with a DHT transmission system which is believed to provide smooth acceleration.

Unfortunately, the exact prices of the two vehicles have not been announced. However, it is predicted that the Wuling Darion Cortez EV will be priced under IDR 500 million and the PHEV type at IDR 600 million.
