KatadataOTO – Wuling Darion has finally launched for the Indonesian market. The newest MPV from Wuling Motors entices modern families with diverse needs.

This vehicle was first introduced as part of the Cortez model lineup. However, upon its launch, it only uses the name Wuling Darion.

“To make it shorter, you can just call it Wuling Darion. But it is true that it is still written as Wuling Cortez Darion,” said Ricky Christian, Marketing Operation Director of Wuling Motors, during the launch in Jakarta (05/11).

He further explained that with the simplified name, the Darion aims to be presented as an electrified MPV, although without letting go of the Cortez as one of their milestones.

The Wuling Darion itself is marketed with two electrification options: EV (Electric Vehicle) and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle).

Each is offered in two variants, so consumers have the freedom to choose. Both the EV and PHEV are available in CE and EX versions, each with different advantages.

“Both the CE and EX carry a similar exterior design, interior, and dimension concept. Both trims are presented to offer flexibility for families' mobility needs,” said Aji Ibrahim, Product Planning at Wuling Motors.

In terms of dimensions, suspension, and braking technology, both variants are the same. The difference between the CE and EX types focuses only on features.

For example, features like Auto Headlamp, Rain-sensing Wiper, Power Tailgate, Dual-layer Tinted Glass, and Electric Sunroof are only available on the EX trim for both the EV and PHEV.

Moving into the cabin, there are also differences; the Ventilated Captain Seats, 6-way Driver Seat Adjustment, and 2nd-row seat adjustment are not available in the CE version.

Then, multimedia and driving comfort features, including the 50W Wireless Phone Charger, 360 Parking Camera, and Adaptive Cruise Control, can only be enjoyed by owners of the EX trim.

In terms of safety, the Wuling Darion CE version only uses 4 Airbags, while the ISOFIX 2nd and 3rd row seat, ABS+EBD with ESC, Electric Parking Brake with Auto-Hold, Hill Hold Control, Pedestrian Warning Sound Module, and TPMS are available in each variant.

Then, the ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System) technology includes ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), IDA (Intelligent Driving Assist) with Lane Keeping Function, FCW (Front Collision Warning), AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking), and LDW (Lane Departure Warning).

There are also BSD (Blind Spot Detection), LCA (Lane Change Assist), DOW (Door-Open Warning), RCTA (Rear Cross-Traffic Alert), RCW (Rear Collision Warning), and IHMA (Intelligent High Beam Assist) which can only be enjoyed by users of the EX trim.
