Fangchengbao to Attend Shanghai Auto Show 2025, Bringing Its Entire Model Lineup

KatadataOTO – Fangchengbao, a sub-brand of BYD, is bringing its entire lineup to the Shanghai Auto Show 2025. The models being brought are the Bao 3, Bao 5, and Bao 8.

Its presence is expected to provide new options to the public, considering its attractive segment. Unlike BYD, Fangchengbao presents more rugged SUVs built to handle even off-road terrain.

For your information, the Bao 3 is a technology-oriented compact SUV equipped with various advantages, including safety, intelligent assisted driving, and personalized styling.

This car has dimensions of 4,605 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,720 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,745 mm. The Bao 3 is also equipped with two electric motors, placed at the front and rear.

At the front, the electric motor can produce 147.5 hp. Meanwhile, at the rear, its performance reaches 268 hp.

Fangchengbao has also showcased the Bao 5, which integrates BYD's DiPilot system and the Huawei Advanced Driving System (Huawei ADAS).

The car is powered by a 1,500 cc turbo engine with 191 hp. Meanwhile, the front motor's power is 268 hp.

Then there is also the Bao 8, a result of collaboration with DJI and Huawei. The vehicle combines four modern technologies and a body-on-frame chassis to deliver both off-road performance and passenger comfort.

It should be noted that the Bao 8 is a PHEV vehicle, so it still uses a 2,000 cc engine with 268 hp. However, the car is also driven by dual electric motors with 402 hp, bringing the total performance to 768 hp and 760 Nm of torque.

This SUV has a 36.8 kWh LFP battery, allowing it to run on pure electricity for up to 125 km. The battery can be charged with a 120 kW DC fast charger.

Besides showcasing the standard versions, they also presented special editions for all three models. The changes mostly focus on the exterior, such as the Bao 8 Whale Titan Kit, which makes the car look more rugged than the standard version.

Then, Fangchengbao presented the Bao 3 Super 3 Edition with a futuristic design inspired by science fiction. Next, the Bao 5 Urban Matrix Kit also comes with a futuristic urban concept.
