KatadataOTO – Travelers using electric cars during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr are predicted to increase. According to data from PLN, there is an increase of up to 500 percent compared to last year.
If during the 2024 holiday there were only 4,314 EVs (Electric Vehicles), this year there will likely be 21,570 electric four-wheeled vehicles.
Of course, the number above shows the increasingly massive use of electric cars by the public. Especially for the activity of returning to their hometowns.
Therefore, PLN and a number of related parties have made various preparations. One of them is by increasing the number of SPKLU (Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station) locations.
“PLN itself has prepared a total of 5,558 SPKLUs throughout Indonesia, of which 1,000 units are on the homecoming routes,” said Yuliot Tanjung, Deputy Minister of ESDM (Energy and Mineral Resources) on the official PLN website, Tuesday (25/03).
He revealed that the available SPKLU units have been technically adapted to various types of charger plugs from each manufacturer.
So people can directly charge their vehicles during their 2025 Eid al-Fitr homecoming trip.
Meanwhile, Darmawan Prasodjo, President Director of PLN, stated that the placement of SPKLUs has been ideally arranged. They are available at every rest area along the Trans-Java and Sumatra Toll Roads.
“At every rest area, there is an SPKLU, and the distance between them is only about 23 kilometers,” he said.
In addition, he advised EV users to utilize the trip planner feature in the PLN Mobile application. This can help in planning homecoming routes and SPKLU locations along the Sumatra and Trans-Java Toll Roads.
Here, KatadataOTO summarizes the SPKLU locations along the Trans-Java and Sumatra Toll Roads for the 2025 Eid al-Fitr homecoming.
