Geely Electric Car Orders Nearly 2,000 Units Since January 2025

KatadataOTO – Geely Auto Indonesia has achieved a positive milestone in the country's automotive market. They are offering their first product, the EX5, in January 2025.

Since its launch, their electric SUV has reportedly received an excellent response. By the end of March, it is said that the number of vehicle orders has almost reached 2,000 units.

In line with the brilliant results achieved, Geely Indonesia plans to demonstrate its commitment. So that it can be better accepted by the public.

“We promise to bring more products, services, and innovations to the Indonesian market,” said Victor Gao, CEO of Geely Auto Indonesia, on the sidelines of a Media Gathering event in Jakarta (21/03).

The increasing number of unit orders must be accompanied by a dealer network. The manufacturer from China stated that it has implemented a number of strategies.

“Currently we have 3 (dealers), the remaining 8 (dealers) will officially be present at the end of the month. In the second quarter, we plan to open 20 dealers,” said Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, at the same location.

They have also started delivering vehicles in stages. At least 1,000 units of the Geely EX5 have been successfully shipped from its country of origin.

Geely is one of the manufacturers taking advantage of government incentives. Therefore, they can offer vehicles at a more competitive price.

The Geely EX5 itself features capable technology as an electric car. Such as the Short Blade battery which only takes 20 minutes to charge from 30 – 80 percent.

With this condition, the EX5 can travel a distance of around 400 kilometers. Offered in two variant options, the Geely electric SUV has a cruising range of 490 to 495 km.

Furthermore, the advantage of the EX5 battery is a lifespan of more than 3,500 charging cycles. The power storage can also be used for up to 1 million kilometers.

To provide comfort while driving, an L2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) has been embedded. Thus, safety on the road is highly guaranteed.
