Geely Prepares EX5 Long Range, Range Reaches 610 Km

KatadataOTO – Geely is reportedly preparing a new variant of the electric car EX5. This model has also been marketed in Indonesia in two types, namely Pro and Max.

Currently, the Geely EX5 in the country has a range of 490 km to 495 km depending on the variant. Both use an LFP battery with a capacity of 60.22 kWh.

Reported by Carnewschina, Tuesday (27/05), a Geely EX5 with a longer range is listed in the data of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Its claimed range is 610 km based on the CLTC testing method. The new variant is added without changing the exterior design at all.

The main change lies in the battery. The dimensions and power storage capacity of the new EX5 are larger to accommodate the 610 km range.

However, until now there has been no information regarding when Geely will release the new EX5 variant.

For your information, the Geely EX5 debuted in Indonesia at the IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025 event. At its debut, consumers could enjoy a special price of Rp 465 million to Rp 505 million.

However, the normal price is Rp 475 million to Rp 515 million OTR (On The Road) Jakarta.

Not only does it offer capable technology, the Geely EX5 has received satisfactory results in the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) and ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) crash tests.

In testing, all safety features were said to function well. For example, the hazard lights and automatic door locks that facilitate the evacuation process.

Then, the most important thing is battery safety. The power storage on the Geely EX5 is maintained without any leaks, smoke, or showing a risk of fire.

Since its launch, as of April 2025, the Geely EX5 has contributed 424 units in wholesales (distribution from factory to dealer). Making it the sixth best-selling electric car in Indonesia.

This achievement is considered positive, considering that in the previous month, March 2025, Geely had not yet managed to climb into the top 10.

Slowly, the wholesale figures for the Geely EX5 are catching up to the Wuling Air ev compact electric car at 551 units. Meanwhile, following the Geely EX5 is the Aion Hyptec, with 276 units.
