Geely Auto Indonesia is preparing new models for the domestic market, and one will be introduced at GIIAS 2025.
KatadataOTO – Geely Auto Indonesia continues to spread its wings in Indonesia. This is in line with their achievements in the country.
Since entering and starting to market electric cars in the country in January 2025, Geely has received a positive response.
They stated they have received orders for almost 2,000 units. The shipments from China are being done in stages, with the first batch consisting of 1,000 units.
To continue showing its commitment to the public, Geely has prepared several strategies. One of them is preparing a number of new models.
“We will bring a new EV to GIIAS 2025, but it will only be an introduction. Whether it will be launched there or not is still under consideration,” said Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, some time ago.
He further stated that it's not just one model being brought to the country. However, he implied that more models will be present to be shown to the public.
Unfortunately, Ori (his nickname) is still keeping information about their newest model under wraps. GIIAS 2025 will be held on the upcoming July 25.
If we look into the new product candidate to be displayed at GIIAS 2025 based on its silhouette, it points to the Geely Geometry C.
The unit's dimensions are unknown, but it looks more compact than the EX5 on the official website. The Geely Geometry C will likely target the BYD Atto3 and MG 4 EV market.
As a compact SUV, their electric car is claimed to be able to produce 150 kW of power or around 210 hp. The vehicle's peak torque is 310 Nm.
To accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h, it only takes 7.7 seconds.
Currently, Geely relies on the EX5 as its mainstay electric SUV, with various new features embedded as a distinct advantage.
Besides expanding by bringing in new models, Geely is also preparing its dealer network throughout Indonesia.
In the near future, they stated they are ready to open 8 new dealerships, complementing the 3 outlets that have already been inaugurated.
“For the second quarter, we plan to open 20 dealerships, and not just on the island of Java. Indeed, by the end of the year, we will open up to 40 new outlets,” Yusuf then explained.
