KatadataOTO – Geely Auto Indonesia is present at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, introducing its newest model, the Geely Starray EM-I. This car already uses Plug-in Hybrid or PHEV technology, making it more environmentally friendly.

Although it has not been officially launched, the Chinese manufacturer is committed to bringing it to Indonesia in the near future. They even plan to produce it directly in the country.

“This year, it will be produced as CKD and then launched. We already had a trial last May and are now making preparations again,” said Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia.

He also revealed that orders have already been taken, but the booking fee amount depends on the policy of each dealer.

“But the plan is for production to take place in the third quarter of this year and distribution to run in the fourth quarter,” he then added.

However, he admitted that he could not yet provide detailed specifications for this car. This is because there are still various adjustments that need to be made to suit the needs of the market in the country.

“There are adjustments, so the final specifications can only be shared further when the launch takes place,” he then added.

Comes With an Interesting Concept

At the GIIAS 2025 event, Geely Auto Indonesia is present with the theme Geely Universe. They claim that this concept reflects Geely's global network and technological innovation in shaping the future of smart, connected, and sustainable mobility.

In its first appearance at GIIAS, Geely is not only showcasing the Geely Starray EM-I but also several other products like the Xingyuan and LEVC L380.

Their presence at this event is expected to affirm their commitment to the Indonesian market while also reflecting the company's global growth momentum. As the demand for electrified vehicles increases, Geely continues to expand its reach into strategic markets, including Indonesia.
