KatadataOTO – After the EX5, Geely Indonesia is reportedly planning to introduce a new model at the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025. One of the products that could potentially be launched is the Geely Starwish.

This electric city car previously debuted in China in September 2024. In its home country, the Starwish is sold under the name Geome Xingyuan and is a competitor to the BYD Dolphin.

Born as a left-hand drive car, Geely is said to be introducing an RHD (Right Hand Drive) version for Thailand first.

“The Geely Starwish will be the second model after the EX5 to be launched in Thailand in 2025,” wrote a report from Autolifethailand, quoted on Monday (26/05).

According to local media reports, only one variant option will be marketed in Thailand, which is the Extended Range version. That model is equipped with a 40.16 kWh battery.

However, Geely is currently conducting a study to introduce a larger capacity 50 kWh battery to adapt to the conditions in the land of the white elephant.

If it comes to Indonesia, the Geely Starwish will be a new challenger to the Wuling BinguoEV, BYD Dolphin, and Neta V-II.

In comparison, the Starwish has larger dimensions than the BinguoEV, which measures L x W x H at 3,950mm x 1,708mm x 1,580mm. Meanwhile, the Starwish's length exceeds four meters, precisely at 4,135 mm x 1,805 mm x 1,570 mm).

In its home country, two power storage options are offered. The Standard Range type uses a 30.12 kWh battery and offers a range of 310 km (CLTC).

Meanwhile, the Extended Range variant is equipped with a 40.16 kWh battery with a longer range of 410 km (CLTC).

The price of the Geely Starwish in China is 68,800 yuan. When converted to rupiah, this figure is equivalent to around 161 million.

For your information, Geely's first model in Indonesia, the EX5, will launch at the IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025. Two variant options are offered: Pro (Rp 475 million) and Max (Rp 515 million).

The batteries used have a higher capacity than the Starwish, at 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh. The claimed range of the Geely EX5 is 440 km to 530 km on a single charge.
