The Geely Starwish electric car will be introduced at GIIAS 2025, becoming a new alternative to the Wuling BinguoEV.
KatadataOTO – The Geely Starwish electric car is likely to be present at the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 event later this July.
It should be noted that the model is sold as the Geome Xingyuan in its home country. The RHD (Right Hand Drive) version is reportedly coming to Thailand for the first time.
However, based on KatadataOTO's investigation, a Geely salesperson said the Starwish will be presented to Indonesian consumers first at GIIAS 2025.
“The Geely Starwish will be part of GIIAS 2025,” said a Geely salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO on Monday (14/07).
However, they were still reluctant to disclose complete information about the variants to be offered or the price range of the Geely Starwish.
In Thailand, the Geely Starwish will be launched in 2025 with a predicted price below 500,000 baht. This figure is equivalent to around Rp 251.1 million when converted to the rupiah exchange rate.
The Geely Starwish will become a new challenger to the Wuling BinguoEV, BYD Dolphin, and Neta V-II electric cars if it is officially launched in Indonesia.
In terms of dimensions, the Geely Starwish has a length of 4,135 mm, a width of 1,805 mm, and a height of 1,570 mm. The car is built on the GEA (Global Intelligent Electric Architecture) platform.
In China, two power capacity options are offered to consumers, which can be chosen according to the prospective buyer's preference.
There is a Standard Range variant with a 30.12 kWh battery, offering a range of 310 km based on the CLTC testing method.
Meanwhile, the Extended Range uses a larger battery of 40.16 kWh. Its claimed range is further, 410 km on a single full charge.
It will be an interesting new option if the Geely Starwish is sold at a price not much different from a similar model, the Wuling BinguoEV.
The Wuling BinguoEV has just received an update; the 410 km range variant is no longer available.
Now there are only the Lite and Pro types with the same range of 333 km. The price is from Rp 279 million to Rp 332 million on the road in Jakarta.
