KatadataOTOGeely is trying to penetrate deeper into the Indonesian electric car market. But it's not just about marketing new products.

The brand from China intends to bring two of their new sub-brands for consumers in the country.

“We also see high interest from Indonesian consumers in Zeekr and Lynk & Co vehicles,” said Constantinus Herlijoso, Sales & Channel Development Director of Geely Auto Indonesia in PIK 2, Tangerang on Tuesday (20/01).

He further stated that the decision was made to strengthen their position in the domestic Electric Vehicle (EV) market.

In addition, Geely is also trying to present various electric cars according to the needs of consumers in the country.

“Both (Zeekr and Lynk & Co) will enter Indonesia in 2026,” Herlijoso continued.

A similar sentiment was also expressed by Evin Ye, Vice President of Geely Automobile International Corporation. He said the Zeekr and Lynk & Co brands are being intentionally brought to Indonesia.

That way, the options for electric cars in the country will become more diverse in the future. This could entice the public to use EVs.

Unfortunately, Evin Ye did not state clearly the exact time when Zeekr and Lynk & Co products will hit the roads here.

“There will be more or less two products for this brand (Zeekr), so please wait. Just like Zeekr, Lynk & Co will see what the public demand is like,” said Evin Ye.

For your information, Zeekr is actually not an unfamiliar brand in the Indonesian electric car market.

Because previously in 2024, they had tried their luck in the country under the auspices of PT Premium Auto Prima.

However, Premium, which intended to become the APM (Brand Holder Agent), fell before it could develop.

During the introduction to consumers, Zeekr brought two models at once, namely the Zeekr X and the Zeekr 009.

Both target upper-class consumers, with an estimated price of Rp1 billion to Rp2 billion.

Meanwhile, Lynk & Co is a premium sub-brand developed by Geely with Volvo Cars.

The brand was first introduced to the global market in 2016. They are quite popular in several countries, especially in Europe.

If Geely's plan goes smoothly, then the competition in the Indonesian EV market is certain to become even tighter in 2026.
