Geely Xingyuan to Launch by Year-End, Locally Assembled

KatadataOTO – Geely Xingyuan is confirmed to launch in Indonesia at the end of 2025. Interestingly, the Chinese manufacturer has affirmed its commitment to assemble it locally.

This step was taken so that the Chinese company can sell it at a more affordable price.

“The Geely Xinyuan will be assembled locally because we also want to pursue TKDN (Local Content Level) to get incentives from the government,” said Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, to the media some time ago.

He also revealed that his party will still utilize the facilities at Handal Indonesia Motor for assembly.

Not only that, Yusuf also revealed that the Geely Xinyuan will most likely come with a different name. This step is a strategy they are taking so that the market can accept the product more optimally.

“We don't know the name yet because each market will be different. We will provide an update later,” he then said.

It should be noted that Geely has introduced the Xingyuan, which is an electric car for young people. The model is claimed to have received a positive response from the Chinese public, as evidenced by sales of 204,940 units in the first half of 2025.

This car comes with attractive dimensions through a ‘Smile Face’ concept to present minimalist body lines. Its dimensions are quite compact, measuring 4,135 x 1,805 x 1,570 mm with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm.

Entering the cabin, the Geely Xingyuan features a quite attractive design. Moreover, the manufacturer has equipped it with various interesting features such as the Flyme Auto infotainment system to accompany the journey.

In China, the Geely Xingyuan uses LFP batteries from CATL with capacities of 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh. With this, the car can travel a distance of 310 km to 410 km.

Interestingly, the car is already equipped with a fast-charging feature that can charge the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in 20 minutes. Thanks to this, it is hoped that users will not have to worry about running out of power when making long-distance journeys.

Unfortunately, Geely has not yet announced the price range that will be set.
