KatadataOTO – GWM Ora 03 will soon be marketed in Indonesia. The launch of this electric car seems to be just a matter of time.
Initially, the electric vehicle (EV) will be marketed in completely built up (CBU) form first.
“As for completely knocked down (CKD), maybe at the end of the year,” said Martina Danuningrat, Strategy & Marketing Director of GWM Indonesia in Gunung Putri, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (02/06).
Martina further explained that the GWM electric car will be produced at the Inchcape factory in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java.
On the other hand, a similar statement was made by Adriana Sukmanaputra, Director of Quality at Inchcape Indonesia. She revealed that they want to register the GWM Ora 03 for the electric car incentive program.
“Since the Ora is fully electric, we will join the government's battery electric vehicle (BEV) program,” said Adriana.
To receive this assistance from President Prabowo Subianto, they are targeting a local component level (TKDN) of 40 percent for the GWM Ora 03.
Therefore, several components of the electric car will be made domestically.
“To achieve 40 percent local content, one of the components is the battery. We will use batteries from Gotion, which is in Klapanunggal,” she continued.
Adriana also stated that they are preparing everything so that the GWM Ora 03 can receive the electric car incentive.
This way, the price of the GWM Ora 03 can be more competitive. And it can attract domestic consumers.
For your information, the GWM Ora 03 is rumored to be sold for under IDR 400 million.
This electric four-wheeled vehicle is rumored to be hitting the roads in the country soon. It will most likely be marketed at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025.
As a reminder, the GWM Ora 03 is equipped with an electric motor producing 143 hp and a peak torque of 219 Nm.
It is paired with a 63 kWh capacity battery, and is claimed to be able to travel up to 400 kilometers on a single charge.
The performance offered is quite capable, able to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds.
GWM claims their electric car can be relied upon for various activities and urban mobility.
