KatadataOTO – The Chery J6 electric car has received a positive response from domestic consumers since its launch. The model is claimed to be the first electric-powered boxy offroad SUV in Indonesia.

With a price tag starting from Rp 500 million, the Chery J6 has been ordered by more than 2,000 consumers.

Currently, the color options are still limited and dominated by dark shades. Besides White Howlite, there are Black Platinum, Grey Morganite, Green Emerald, and Silver Granite.

However, during a handover event in South Jakarta some time ago, several units were seen wrapped in a yellow color.

It turns out the yellow color was just introduced in March 2025. Therefore, the quantity is still limited.

“We intentionally introduced it this month, it's very limited with only 40 units,” said Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of PT CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia) when met in Jakarta some time ago.

In fact, when it was first launched, the yellow Chery J6 option was immediately sold out by consumers.

“It can still be ordered, the yellow color. The waiting time is about one month,” said Budi.

According to Budi, in the future, Chery will prepare other color options for the J6 electric car.

For example, like the one displayed at the GJAW (Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week) 2024 automotive exhibition. The pink edition caught the attention of visitors throughout the event.

However, Chery was reluctant to reveal what new colors will be introduced for the J6 in the future.

“In the future, there will be other new colors, combined with its unique design,” Budi affirmed.

For your information, the Chery J6 electric SUV is available in two drive variations, namely RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) and IWD (Intelligent Wheel Drive), also known as four-wheel drive.
