KatadataOTO – It cannot be denied that car sales in Indonesia in the first semester of 2025 were under pressure. However, PT Honda Prospect Motor managed to record quite positive results.

In the period from January to June 2025, the Japanese company successfully achieved retail sales of 39,193 units. Thanks to this, they are entitled to sit in the third position of the largest car manufacturers in the country.

This achievement is inseparable from the high demand in June 2025, which grew by 11 percent compared to the previous month. The increase was caused by the rise in Honda sales of the HR-V.

The hybrid technology car successfully sold 1,555 units. This figure increased sharply from the achievement in May 2025, which was only 866 units.

Positive results were also achieved by the BR-V, which grew by 15 percent compared to the previous month. Throughout June 2025, Honda delivered 575 units to customers.

However, the manufacturer's backbone in June 2025 was still supported by the Brio, which recorded sales of 2,437 units. Meanwhile, the CR-V, Civic, Accord, and other Honda models contributed a total of 671 units.

“We are grateful for the trust of consumers, which has enabled Honda to achieve an increase in sales amidst dynamic market conditions. The company is committed to presenting models that meet the needs of the community with proven quality and value,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM in his press release.

He is also optimistic that in the second semester, the vehicle market can become more optimal. This is because they have prepared various promos and new models for the public.

“Entering the second semester, we hope the automotive market continues to grow, supported by the vehicle exhibition at the end of this month,” he affirmed.

It was previously reported that Honda will launch the Step WGN Hybrid at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025. Pre-orders for this car have been opened with a booking fee of Rp 10 million.

Although the official specifications have not been announced, the model comes with a boxy design, making it seem quite large. Several accents have also been added to make it look more appealing.
