Honda Dealerships Close Ahead of New Model Launch

PT HPM is confident that the second-generation Honda Brio will remain popular even without major changes for seven years.
KatadataOTO – Honda Brio, one of the city cars from PT HPM (Honda Prospect Motor), is now in its second generation. The latest model debuted in the country in 2018 and has not received another major update since its launch.
Honda has several times provided minor refreshments to the exterior, such as the grille and wheel design, as well as its interior features.
When asked about the new generation Brio, a representative from Honda Indonesia was still reluctant to say much. This is despite it being seven years since the second generation was launched in Indonesia.
“Basically, the (development) of a product depends on demand and desire,” opened Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM, when met in Sunter some time ago.
According to Billy, so far the second-generation Brio continues to receive minor updates or refreshments to follow consumer needs.
Although he revealed that the updates given to the Honda Brio are not yet massive or major.
“The important thing is that consumers accept it; for example, as technology gets more advanced, we have to follow it. Before, they used manual audio buttons, now they use a display,” said Billy.
It is also not out of the question that PT HPM might add Android Auto or Apple CarPlay connectivity to the lowest Satya type. Currently, this set of features is only available on the higher variants.
“It could be, yes, because technology is always changing and we have to keep up. The younger generation is always heading in that direction,” Billy affirmed.
The new generation of the Honda Brio does not seem to be coming anytime soon. Consumer response is said to still be positive, even though the second-generation model is now seven years old without a major change.
For your information, the Brio Satya and RS are offered in several variants with manual and automatic CVT transmission options.
The lowest Brio Satya type is sold for IDR 170.4 million OTR (On The Road) Jakarta, while its highest variant has reached IDR 202.5 million.
Another option that looks sportier and uses larger wheels is offered starting from IDR 248.2 million for the manual transmission. Meanwhile, the automatic transmission version is sold for IDR 258.2 million.
