KatadataOTO – PT HPM (Honda Prospect Motor) plans to introduce its newest electrified model for Indonesian consumers this year. Among the three models, one is indicated to be the HR-V e:HEV, also known as the HR-V hybrid.

Interestingly, the newest SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) has the potential to be locally assembled at Honda Indonesia's facility. This would make its price more competitive.

This is because it will take advantage of the hybrid car incentive or subsidy in the form of a three percent tax cut provided by the government.

“We are aiming for affordable, definitely value for money. It probably won't be as expensive as that (the CR-V e:HEV),” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM, when met in Sunter on Tuesday (06/05).

It should be noted that Honda's current electrified lineup, such as the Accord and CR-V, are still fully imported or CBU (Completely Built Up) from Thailand. The CR-V is offered with a price tag of around Rp 800 million on the road in Jakarta.

This will be Honda's first electrified model to be produced domestically and receive incentives.

Although he was reluctant to specify the model, it is strongly suspected that the product in question is the HR-V.

“The price will definitely be (below the CR-V). I don't want to talk about it yet (the model),” Billy affirmed.

According to data from Honda Indonesia, the HR-V is one of PT HPM's main contributors in the country. As of March 2025, its retail sales (dealer to consumer) reached 1,618 units, placing it in second position after the Brio (4,260 units).

For your information, the Honda HR-V e:HEV's design is not much different from the conventional version. However, the wheels have a different design.

The Honda HR-V e:HEV is equipped with a 1,500 cc engine, producing 105 hp and a peak torque of 131 Nm. Meanwhile, its electric motor provides an additional 175 hp and 253 Nm of torque.

The Honda HR-V is currently sold starting from the Rp 300 million range on the road in Jakarta. Based on the current CR-V e:HEV pricing, the hybrid version's price tag might be Rp 50 million – Rp 60 million more expensive than the gasoline engine type.

For reference, here is a summary of the Honda HR-V price list in Indonesia as of May 2025.

Honda HR-V Prices May 2025

  • HR-V S CVT, Rp 392.1 million
  • HR-V E CVT, Rp 412.9 million
