The price of the Honda Stepwgn e:HEV is more expensive than the Nissan Serena e-Power hybrid MPV; here are the details.
KatadataOTO – The arrival of the hybrid MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) Honda Stepwgn is getting closer. Recently, the unit was once again exhibited at the IIMS 2025 event.
At the exhibition, PT HPM (Honda Prospect Motor) instead launched the e:N1 electric car, which is available through a rental scheme.
Meanwhile, the Honda Stepwgn is believed to be sold as usual, not for rent. The model targets family consumers for urban mobility.
Although not officially sold at the exhibition, sales representatives have apparently started offering the unit to consumers. Prospective buyers only need to prepare a booking fee of IDR 10 million.
“Yesterday, a customer booked the Honda Stepwgn for IDR 10 million. The price is around IDR 699 million,” said a Honda sales representative when contacted by KatadataOTO on Tuesday (4/3).
However, he emphasized that the on-the-road price is still tentative. It could change again when PT HPM officially launches the Stepwgn e:HEV in the country.
Honda Indonesia is still reluctant to speak further about the exact launch time of the hybrid car Honda Stepwgn. However, the salesperson confirmed that the model will hit the road this year.
“Yes, that's right (delivery this year). We can help with the process, (delivery in) September,” said the sales representative.
For comparison, the current hybrid-powered sliding door MPV in Indonesia is the Nissan Serena e-Power, which is sold at a starting price of around IDR 645 million.
The Serena e-Power uses a 1,500 cc engine, while the Honda Stepwgn has a 2,000 cc engine. Both are combined with hybrid technology.
The Honda Stepwgn is slightly longer than the Nissan Serena e-Power. The L x W x H dimensions of the Stepwgn are 4,830 mm x 1,750 mm x 1,845 mm with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. The Nissan Serena e-Power measures 4,765 mm x 1,715 mm x 1,885 mm.
The Honda Stepwgn e:HEV will add another option for a hybrid technology family car for consumers in the country. Besides the Serena e-Power, another option is offered by Toyota in the premium class with a price tag of IDR 1.7 billion and above.
Thus, the Stepwgn e:HEV could be an attractive choice. However, Honda has not yet confirmed whether the model will be locally assembled in order to obtain hybrid car incentives from the government.
For your information, Honda's current hybrid vehicle lineup, namely the CR-V e:HEV and Accord e:HEV, are still imported as CBU (Completely Built Up) units.
