KatadataOTO – Voltron Indonesia acknowledges that many electric car users are now using EV charging stations as parking spots. This is certainly detrimental to consumers, especially when their battery is almost empty.

To overcome this, they have installed a new feature in the charging application. Thanks to this, when the car's battery is almost fully charged, a notification will be sent to the owner's smartphone.

“There will be several notifications that the vehicle owner must respond to in order to return to the charging station immediately,” said Abdul Rahman Elly, Founder & CEO of Voltron Indonesia to the media some time ago.

If they do not unplug it immediately, the driver will be charged an additional fee per minute. Thus, it is hoped that electric car users will not be able to leave their vehicles carelessly.

“This feature is planned to start on February 28, 2025, and can make electric vehicle owners more orderly when charging,” he emphasized.

Moreover, charging at a Voltron charging station doesn't actually take a long time. This is because they offer Hyper Fast Charging.

Thanks to this, charging from 20 percent to 80 percent only takes 15 minutes, so users don't have to wait too long. However, this facility is currently only available at Living World Alam Sutera.

“Our target is to have 50 Hyper Fast Charging stations by the end of this year, built in the Greater Jakarta area. Other cities will follow,” he added.

Although the charging is faster, the rates are still considered competitive because for charging below 50 kW it is Rp 2,466 while the additional fee is 933 per kW. Meanwhile, for charging above 50 kW, the price is Rp 3,600 per kWh.

Not only that, Voltron has also anticipated a surge in charging demand during the fasting month, especially during the Eid homecoming. They ensure that their facilities can operate optimally.

“We are already present in several rest areas, so they can be used by travelers using electric cars,” said Abdul Rahman Elly.
