Offering a 450 km range, the Hyundai Creta EV will launch first in the Indian market in mid-January.
KatadataOTO – Hyundai Motor India has signaled the arrival of the electric version of the Creta through its official social media page on January 1, 2025. This was also previously confirmed by Hyundai last year.
In the future, the Hyundai Creta EV will be mass-produced in large quantities, targeting a wider range of consumers than the Ioniq 5.
“The Hyundai Creta Electric is here to change your driving style forever. The countdown to innovation has begun,” wrote Hyundai India, as quoted on Thursday (2/1).
According to CarDekho, Hyundai will launch the Creta EV on January 17, 2025, at the Bharat Expo exhibition with a starting price of 2 million rupees. This figure is around Rp 378.5 million when converted to the rupiah exchange rate.
It should be noted, the Hyundai Creta EV will be locally assembled in India. There is a possibility that the Indian-made units will be exported to other countries where the conventional engine Creta is sold.
In terms of design, the Creta EV is believed to still have a design similar to its conventional version, but with a number of changes.
For example, a simpler grille, then the shape of the front and rear lights is similar to the Creta Facelift that was launched in India in January 2024. Not to forget, an extended LED bar on the fascia has become one of the new identities of Hyundai's product line.
There is no official information about the specifications yet, but some sources mention that the features on the Creta EV might be similar to those embedded in the Ioniq 5.
