KatadataOTO – The use of electric cars is becoming more massive in the country. This has led HMID (Hyundai Motors Indonesia) to expand its services.

This time, they are introducing SPKLU (Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station) facilities for all EV (Electric Vehicle) owners in the country.

So it's not just users of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Kona Electric who can use the charging stations owned by the South Korean manufacturer.

“The EV Charging Subscription program is a manifestation of Hyundai's commitment to continuously advance the electric car ecosystem in Indonesia,” said Ju Hun Lee, President Director of PT HMID in an official statement on Monday (3/2).

He further stated that they are very enthusiastic about advancing the electric four-wheeled vehicle ecosystem.

“Through this initiative, Hyundai enables every EV user to experience vehicle ownership that is increasingly safe, comfortable, and enjoyable at an affordable price,” continued Ju Hun Lee.

A similar sentiment was also expressed by Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of PT HMID. He said that the EV Charging Subscription program reinforces Hyundai's position as a game changer in the country's automotive industry.

“Especially in providing innovative and comprehensive aftersales solutions for EV users. This program is also an important part of Hyundai's efforts as a pioneer of vehicle electrification in the country to increase the adoption of electric cars among the public,” said Frans.

The subscription program is claimed to offer a number of advantages, such as being 47 percent more economical than other SPKLUs.

Furthermore, Hyundai's charging stations are spread across hundreds of locations, namely 296 points. They can be found through the myHyundai application starting February 3, 2025.

Frans stated that Hyundai's charging station network is operated with a number of partners, such as Voltron, Casion, Buzz, and Daya Green.
