GJAW 2025 Attendance Claimed to Have Increased Compared to Last Year

Hyundai's sales figures in October were the lowest overall since January 2025.
KatadataOTO – Hyundai sales figures in Indonesia on a retail basis (distribution from dealers to consumers) have been stagnant in the 1,000s range since April 2025.
As of October 2025, Hyundai's sales in Gaikindo's data were recorded at 1,353 units, a four percent decrease from the September achievement of 1,412 units.
It should be noted that in the January-March 2025 period, Hyundai's sales were still able to break the 2,000-unit mark.
In January, 2,001 units were recorded. This was followed by 2,153 units in February, then reaching its highest figure in March at 2,354 units.
However, after that, Hyundai's sales stagnated in the 1,000s range, even though a new model had been introduced, namely the Stargazer Cartenz.
In October, Hyundai's sales dropped to 1,353. This is their lowest achievement in 2025 so far.
The Stargazer Cartenz is an updated version of the previous model with the most noticeable change in the grille area.
The refresh was made by incorporating feedback from consumers. However, it does not seem to have significantly boosted Hyundai's sales in Indonesia.
Even though the Hyundai Stargazer, as a Low Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LMPV), is one of the backbones of their domestic sales.
However, in terms of price, the Stargazer Cartenz is more expensive than its Japanese-made rivals like the Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia.
Another product, the Hyundai Venue, was previously touted as a volume maker, but it did not receive the expected response.
Throughout 2025, the Hyundai Venue only contributed 31 units in wholesales (distribution from factory to dealer).
Meanwhile, Hyundai's electric cars are also facing stiff competition from various Chinese manufacturers. In the September 2025 period, Hyundai's Electric Vehicles (EVs) were no longer among the top 10 best-selling models.
Price and model variety are considered one of the reasons for the decline in popularity of Hyundai's electric cars in Indonesia. Chinese products are in demand because their prices tend to be lower than similar models in the same segment.
