KatadataOTOBYD is not alone in enlivening IIMS 2025. This manufacturer also brought its premium sub-brand, Denza.

They also showcased their flagship product, the Denza Z9 GT. The electric car successfully captured the attention of visitors.

Because it offers various advantages. One of them is the compass turn to the crab walk, or moving diagonally.

This advantage is certainly thanks to the inclusion of the e3 platform, which was introduced in the fourth quarter of 2024.

It is claimed to make it easier for consumers when using the Denza Z9 GT, especially when parallel parking or driving in narrow areas.

“The launch of the e3 platform marks a major step in electric vehicle innovation,” said Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of Public & Government Relations at BYD Motor Indonesia at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta on Wednesday (19/02).

Luther explained that with this technology, Denza will present a more advanced vehicle control system for consumers.

For your information, the e3 platform on the Denza Z9 GT is equipped with an independent three-motor drive system. It consists of one electric motor in the front and two in the rear.

It is then combined with VMC (Vehicle Motion Control), CTB (Cell to Body), and Rear Wheel Steering.

VMC works to detect everything that happens with the EV (Electric Vehicle). Such as output regulation to handling.

Meanwhile, Cell to Body is a car platform that integrates with the Blade Battery for vehicle rigidity.

“Rear Wheel Steering can reduce the turning radius for vehicles with a long wheelbase. Then, during high-speed maneuvers, it prevents oversteer or understeer,” said Narendro Bawono Cahyolaksono, Product Planning Assistant Manager at PT BYD Motor Indonesia.

Now, to perform a compass turn, the rear wheels are set outward, meaning they bend inward at the rear for both wheels.
