KatadataOTO – At the GJAW 2025 event, Jaecoo held an official handover ceremony for the electric car J5 EV. The Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is claimed to have 6,000 units ordered.

Jaecoo J5 EV is currently sold for Rp 299 million, making it an attractive option for people who want to own an electric-powered SUV with a competitive price tag.

“The Jaecoo J5 EV has received a very positive response from the Indonesian market. More than 6,000 units have been purchased,” said Jim Ma, Business Unit Director of Jaecoo Indonesia in Jakarta, Saturday (29/11).

He further revealed that the Jaecoo J5 EV indeed has its own appeal amidst the current tight competition in the electric car market.

In Indonesia, not many manufacturers offer an electric car in the SUV segment for Rp 299 million.

“This electric car has a classic SUV-style design, a long range, and a special and comfortable cabin. Its capacity is suitable for the travel range of car owners in Indonesia,” said Jim Ma.

However, he was reluctant to disclose the number of units delivered or the target for the end of the year. But he hopes to meet all consumer needs in the near future.

On the other hand, a number of Jaecoo J5 EV unit recipients present at GJAW 2025 said that the model has its own appeal as an electric-powered SUV.

“Well, when I found out the price, I thought it was unbelievable, a design this proper is extraordinary. From the exterior to the interior, I think it's really worth buying,” said Humam, one of the Jaecoo J5 EV consumers, on the same occasion.

For your information, the price of the Jaecoo J5 EV electric car was revealed to consumers at the GIIAS 2025 event. The lowest type was sold for Rp 249.9 million while the top variant was offered at Rp 299.9 million.

The Jaecoo J5 EV is equipped with a 60.9 kWh capacity battery with a claimed range of 461 km (NEDC) on a single full charge.

There are several differences between the two variants, which have a price difference of around Rp 50 million. For example, the top type has a Panoramic Roof and a Power Tailgate.

The head unit size is also different. The highest type has a larger 13.2-inch unit, while the variant below it has a nine-inch one.
