KatadataOTO – The arrival of the Jaecoo J5 EV is eagerly awaited by many. Moreover, the launch of this electric car is reportedly just a matter of time.
Jaecoo Indonesia also stated that the price of their Electric Vehicle (EV) will be announced on November 3, 2025.
“We want Indonesian drivers to experience the solid, quiet, and characteristic performance of a true SUV,” said Max Zhou, Country Director of Jaecoo Indonesia in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (29/10).
Max Zhou stated that Jaecoo's new electric car has several advantages, such as a more powerful drive motor compared to competitors.
Because it can deliver power up to 155 kW or equivalent to 207.8 hp. Meanwhile, the peak torque reaches 288 Nm.
It is then paired with a 60.9 kWh capacity battery, allowing the Jaecoo J5 EV to travel up to 461 km on a single charge (NEDC).
It also features 130 kW fast charging, so charging from 30 percent to 80 percent takes only 28 minutes.
“The character of a 'Real SUV' is certainly not only determined by design or features, but by the ability to drive toughly in various road conditions,” he continued.
According to Max Zhou, the Jaecoo J5 EV suits the road characteristics in Indonesia, so it can be relied upon for various needs.
Especially after being equipped with the latest regenerative braking system, which can convert braking energy into additional power.
Then there is a vehicle pre-conditioning feature to help maintain optimal battery and cabin temperatures before the vehicle is used.
This combination makes the Jaecoo J5 EV not only powerful, but also efficient and environmentally friendly in daily use.
On the other hand, this Chinese brand claims to have made various preparations to launch the Jaecoo J5 EV in the country.
“We will provide fast charging for electric vehicles. This will generally be implemented at all Jaecoo dealers in Indonesia,” said Setia Hariadi, Head of DND Jaecoo.
With that, Setia is optimistic that Jaecoo's electric car can become a favorite among the Indonesian people and receive a positive reception from consumers.
“We know that in the B-segment SUV class, the price range for cars in that class is around Rp 500 million. The trend is also good every year, so we feel the potential for the J5 is very large,” Setia affirmed.
It is worth noting that the Jaecoo J5 EV has reportedly recorded 200 unit bookings since the GIIAS 2025 event.
