KatadataOTO – Electric cars with a price range below Rp 300 million have garnered a quite positive response from consumers in the country.

After the Wuling Air ev, other brands have followed a similar path, such as Seres E1, VinFast VF 3, and BYD Atto 1.

At the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2025, the Chinese brand, Jetour, also brought a model in that segment, namely the Jetour X20e.

The concept is similar to the Wuling Air ev, but this car is equipped with four doors. So, access for rear-seat passengers is not limited to just the front doors.

“We see this (affordable electric cars) as a good trend because the market has more choices,” said Moch. Ranggy Radiansyah, Marketing Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia, when met in Tangerang some time ago.

However, until now, Jetour has been reluctant to disclose further plans to launch the X20e electric car in the country. Even though after GIIAS 2025, some salespeople mentioned that the unit could be ordered.

Instead, Jetour launched the T2, a gasoline-powered offroad Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), with a price tag of Rp 568 million on the road in Jakarta, specifically for the first 1,000 customers.

“We are still conducting studies and so on. But what is certain is that we are trying to give consumers a surprise, so that we can exceed expectations in terms of a balanced product and price,” Ranggy affirmed.

For your information, the Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) of the Jetour X20e has previously been registered on the Samsat-PKB website.

There are two variants listed, namely a 300-kilometer range version and a 410-kilometer range version, priced at Rp 165 million to Rp 175 million, respectively.

For comparison, the NJKB for one type of Wuling Air ev is Rp 191 million, with an on-the-road Jakarta selling price of around Rp 195 million.

So there is a chance the price will not be much different. But this is on the condition that the Jetour X20e has Completely Knocked Down (CKD) status, like the Wuling Air ev.

If it is still imported as a completely built-up unit, there is a possibility its price could soar above Rp 200 million.

Jetour has not fully revealed its new product plans for 2026, but has confirmed that the T2 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) version, priced at around Rp 800 million, will be launched in Indonesia.
