The Jetour T1 and T2 hybrid cars are most likely to debut mid-year, specifically at the GIIAS 2025 exhibition.
KatadataOTO – Jetour is one of Chery's sub-brands in China that focuses on presenting a line of SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles). In Indonesia, they have only brought in gasoline-powered cars.
However, this year Jetour plans to expand its product portfolio and enter the PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) market, just like Chery in Indonesia.
Unlike Chery, Jetour's PHEVs have a much boxier design and are claimed to be suitable for off-road use in extreme terrain. One of them is the Jetour T1, which debuted in China in October 2024.
The introduction of a hybrid model is indeed on the roadmap for PT Jetour Motor Indonesia. When confirmed, Jetour revealed that the T1 and T2 are the candidates.
“Yes, we will bring (the T1 and T2), as soon as we can. But I think you will see this car in mid-2025,” said Jacky Yang, President Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia, responding to KatadataOTO's questions on the sidelines of IIMS 2025, Tuesday (18/2).
GIIAS 2025 (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) is a potential debut venue for Jetour's PHEV. Considering the exhibition is usually held in the middle of the year.
However, Jacky was reluctant to explain whether Jetour would start taking orders for the T1 this year or if it would just be an introduction.
“Of course we will introduce it. As for the sales time, we will try to make it as soon as possible,” Jacky affirmed.
The T1 is part of Jetour's urban off-road series, with a price range of 154,800 yuan-174,800 yuan or around Rp 347.8 million-Rp 392.8 million in rupiah.
Its dimensions are quite large, with a size of L x W x H at 4,706 mm x 1,967 mm x 1,845 mm. For comparison, this is slightly larger than Chery's electric SUV, the J6, which measures 4,406 mm x 1,910 mm x 1,715 mm.
Speaking of its powertrain, the Jetour T1 uses a 1,500 cc Turbo engine equipped with a 26.7 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of 150 km when relying solely on the battery and electric motor.
Meanwhile, with a 100 percent battery charge and a full gas tank, the Jetour T1 can accommodate a journey of up to 1,300 km.
Meanwhile, the T2 is slightly larger and offers a pure electric range greater than the T1, at around 200 km.
