KatadataOTO – After its global debut at IIMS 2025, the Jaecoo J5 EV was showcased at the Bangkok International Motor Show. This time, its interior was revealed and the Chery Group sub-brand disclosed its specifications.

At IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025, the 5-seater SUV (sport utility vehicle) Jaecoo J5 EV was introduced as a prototype. At that time, it was still a left-hand drive configuration, and the cabin was wrapped in black material.

At the BIMS (Bangkok International Motor Show) 2025 event, the displayed Jaecoo J5 EV had a similar design to the unit at IIMS 2025. However, the unit in Thailand was already a right-hand drive version.

Reported by Paultan, Thursday (27/03), the Jaecoo J5 EV uses front-wheel drive and is equipped with a 60.9 kWh capacity battery.

This configuration is claimed to allow the J5 EV to produce 208 hp and a peak torque of 288 Nm. Then, acceleration from zero to 100 km/h can be achieved in just 7.7 seconds.

Using a large battery, its range based on the NEDC testing method is 470 km on a single charge.

The interior is dominated by white, especially on the steering wheel, door trim, and seats.

However, Jaecoo did not disclose further information. Such as the number of electric motors in the Jaecoo J5, variants, or pricing.

For your information, the Jaecoo J5 EV will soon be launched in Indonesia. Unfortunately, it is not yet known when this electric car will be officially offered to consumers.

Interestingly, Jaecoo received a positive response at IIMS 2025. Some prospective customers even wanted to place an order, pay a booking fee, and wait until the J5 EV is launched in the future.

“It can now be ordered with a booking fee of Rp 5 million to Rp 10 million,” said Ryan Ferdiean Tirto, Head of Product for Jaecoo Indonesia, during the Jaecoo introduction at IIMS 2025 some time ago.

For now, Jaecoo is offering a hybrid car to consumers, the J7 PHEV. At a glance, its posture and appearance are similar to the J5 EV; the main differentiator is the large black-colored grille.

The announced price is still an estimate, ranging from Rp 499 million to Rp 599 million for the highest trim.

All customers who pre-book can get a home charger and a V2L Adapter worth Rp 10 million. The unit will be received by buyers in May 2025.
