The Denza D9 electric MPV, a rival to the Alphard, is set to hit Indonesian roads in March 2025.
KatadataOTO – The Denza D9, which was just launched yesterday (22/01), will be delivered to consumers by the first quarter of 2025 at the latest. This means the luxurious electric MPV will start to be seen on the roads in March.
The Denza D9, which is an MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) type electric car, is known to have many orders. Even long before its launch, the model was already being sought after by consumers.
“We will do our best to meet consumer demand. The plan is to start deliveries in the first quarter, in March of this year at the latest,” said Nathan Sun, Operational Director of BYD Motor Indonesia, on the sidelines of the launch (22/01).
He further stated that his party is still monitoring the number of incoming orders. This will allow them to manage the number of units to be imported.
According to information from a BYD salesperson at the end of 2024 to KatadataOTO, the number of orders for the Denza D9 has reached 200 people.
For your information, the Denza D9 is a unit imported completely built-up (CBU) directly from China. This is because their factory in Indonesia is not yet complete.
For your information, the Denza D9 is marketed at a price of IDR 950 million on the road in Jakarta. This price tag is cheaper than the premium MPV market leader in the country, the Toyota Alphard.
In terms of luxury, this electric MPV from China dares to compete. Inside the cabin, the features offered are quite complete.
Starting from massage seats, to the electric leg rests for the second-row seats. Then there are sliding doors measuring over 1 meter for flexible entry and exit.
The Denza D9 is also said to be a luxury MPV that adopts a 7 + 7 concept. This means the car can accommodate 7 passengers and 7 cabin-sized suitcases in the back.
The third-row seats are also said to be quite comfortable for passengers. The comfort inside the cabin is thanks to the vehicle's length of 5.2 meters and a wheelbase of up to 3,110 millimeters.
As an electric car, the Denza D9 is claimed to be able to travel up to 600 km (NEDC) on a single battery charge. You can confidently make the Jakarta – Jogja trip without recharging.
In terms of performance, the maximum power that can be produced is 308 hp (230 kW). Meanwhile, the peak torque reaches 360 Nm.
The output from the car's power source is channeled to the two front wheels, i.e., front-wheel drive (FWD).
